Ongoing Assessment to Inform Curriculum, Teaching Practice, and Family Engagement

In this session, we will discuss the importance of high-quality data and how data can be used to create a program culture of inquiry, reflection, and continuous quality improvement. We will explore how the use of reflective dialogues guide staff in making data informed decisions for curriculum implementation, individualizing learning opportunities and communicating about children's progress toward school readiness goals.

Compentencies addressed:

COA 1.1. Can describe authentic, naturalistic, culturally responsive, age-appropriate informal and formal observation and assessment methods. Can identify and recognize how own implicit bias may influence assessment practices and interpretation of data. 

COA 2.1. Can describe how the results of child observations and assessments are used to adjust and individualize instruction.
