Description

Participants will gain knowledge in research-based practices for literacy and math instruction in Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. The presenter will briefly share about the Early Learning Corps model of RTI assessment and intervention, and describe the role of the Early Learning tutor in a typical pre-K classroom. Through hands-on practice with a partner or group, each participant will learn specific game-based strategies for a small group lesson in a math or literacy skill that aligns with Common Core State Standards for preschool/pre-kindergarten. Participants will also learn and practice transition songs, back-and-forth conversations, math talk, and informal opportunities to incorporate academic skills into the daily routine.
